Padjadjaran Accounting Competition (PAC) 2018

Padjajaran Accounting Competition (PAC) is one of two competitions in the Padjajaran Accounting Week (PAW) 2018 series of activities organized by Padjajaran University Bandung. This event was held on November 13 to 16, 2018. Both PAW 2018 competitions, namely Padjajaran Accounting Competition (PAC) and International Conference (IC), were held at Padjajaran University Bandung, specifically at the Dipatiukur campus, not at the Jatinangor campus because the reach was too far for the participants. This PAC competition series began with an online preliminary where each registered team was given five questions in the form of a fairly long arithmetic. Participants who have the opportunity to fight again at Padjajaran University are the 25 best teams based on the accumulation of preliminary answers or Top 25. Two teams from Universitas Airlangga who advanced to the top 25 are the Next SA team (Nanda Marga, Mega Nur, Vivi Ayu from Accounting 2015) and the Jawara team (Ryan Hadi, Nadya Baritsa, Natalia Feronica from Accounting 2016).

The top 25 teams will face three further rounds, namely: Elimination Round, Semifinals, and Final Round. However, before going through these three rounds, the participants were given a Panel Discussion featuring prominent figures who will be speakers on the theme "Generations that create worlds establishment" with a discussion of three sub-themes, namely: Green Accounting, Carbon Tax, and Sustainable Development Goals. The elimination round is divided into four stages: beat to win, me after you, match your card , and rush minute . The core of all these stages is working on accounting problems individually and in groups, both together and in the form of relays, and of course with various modifications and challenges.

The following day, Thursday, November 15, 2018, the top 12 teams were announced to continue their fight in the semifinal round. The top 12 teams consisted of 2 UI teams, 2 STAN teams, 2 Trisakti School of Management teams, 1 UNAIR team, 1 UGM team, 2 Multimedia Nusantara University teams, and 2 UBAYA teams. The Universitas Airlangga team that advanced to the next round was the Next SA team. In the semifinal round, the teams were divided into 4 pools containing 3 teams to compete. The UNAIR team entered pool 1, meaning they had to compete against STAN and UBAYA. This round consisted of 3 stages called "3 B Accounting" requiring teamwork and speed in calculating and answering questions, both mandatory and competitive. In this round, the scores were accumulated from the 3 stages and the five best teams were selected to proceed to the Final round. However, the UNAIR team has not yet succeeded in advancing to the next round.

In the final round, the top 5 will face problem-solving and presentations. The following Friday, the PAW (Page 10) activities will be held to foster camaraderie among the participants, both PAC and IC, who come from various universities and regions. The final event, a gala dinner, which also serves as an awards ceremony and closing ceremony, will be held at the Royale Hotel Bandung.
