TEDxAirlangga University is an independent initiative officially licensed by TED, and has been present since 2020 as a place to release new ideas within the Universitas Airlangga . Carrying the spirit of "Ideas Change Everything", TEDxAirlangga University is a collaborative space that accommodates creative, reflective, and transformative ideas from various groups and topics. Rooted in TED, a non-profit and non-partisan organization originally in California. TEDx was founded to disseminate meaningful ideas (ideas worth spreading) on ​​a local community scale that have a global impact. TEDxAirlangga University does not only present a one-way conference, but also creates an experience that brings interdisciplinary dialogue to life, brings together ideas, and encourages real action. Now entering its sixth year, TEDxAirlangga University continues to transform into a dynamic creative ecosystem. Involving students, lecturers, and external partners, this activity is designed with an original approach and presents a series of pre-events and main events that are interconnected thematically and philosophically.
Every year, TEDxAirlangga University serves not only as a platform for curated speakers, but also as a movement of thought that fosters collective awareness on social, cultural, and humanitarian issues. Through its talks, TEDxAirlangga University contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as SDG 4 (Quality Education) by encouraging the dissemination of knowledge across fields, SDG 10 (Reducing Inequality) through the representation of ideas from diverse backgrounds, and SDG 17 (Partnerships) through creative collaboration between parties.
More than just an annual event, TEDxAirlangga University presents itself as an open space where students are not only spectators, but also creators of meaning. With the spirit of diversity, originality, and intellectual courage, TEDxAirlangga University invites all people Universitas Airlangga to engage in meaningful conversations. Because ideas, whether small or large, when shared in the right space, can change everything.
