Surabaya - On Saturday, April 13, 2019, a work program entitled "Strategic Sponsorship" (SS) was held at the Soepoyo Hall by the Department of External Relations of the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR). The Strategic Sponsorship event took place at the Soepoyo Hall of FEB UNAIR.
This year's Strategic Sponsorship is the third strategic sponsorship that has been implemented by the FEB Student Executive Board continuing and developing the program from the previous period of BEM FEB. Focusing on public speaking training and sponsorship applications, this event prioritizes Student Organizations (ORMAWA) as participants, especially the Public Relations Division (HUMAS) of the Student Organization at FEB UNAIR. Although limited in terms of participants - not open to the public, SS presents professional speakers who are experienced in their fields, namely, Adinda Putri (News Presenter and member of the Universitas AirlanggaAmbassadors Association), Rizky Supriyadi, SE, Ak., MBA (Director of PT. Graha Mukti Indah Group), Umi Rodiyah (Leader of the Institutional Relations and Business Division of Bank JATIM), and Suranto ST (Head of the Marketing Division of PT. SIER). Through the SS event, participants are expected to gain an overview of the flow of good sponsorship and tips for getting sponsorship by designing a mature strategy, and participants are expected to be able to implement the knowledge gained both when carrying out their respective work programs and in everyday life.
Taking the concept of a talk show and rally game, SS began the event with an interactive presentation by Adinda Putri, News Presenter and member of the UNAIR Ambassadors Association, regarding the importance of public speaking techniques in communicating both in the campus environment and in everyday life. Participants were often invited to practice their public speaking skills by simulating being a news presenter. The event then continued with a talk show, moderated by Christian Arie Rotty and by speakers, Rizky Supriyadi as Director of PT. Graha Mukti Indah Group, Umi Rodiyah as Head of Institutional Relations Division of Bank JATIM, and Suranto as Head of Marketing Division of PT. SIER. As the talk show progressed, participants were able to note down things to consider in sponsorship applications, tips and tricks in attracting companies to provide sponsorship, as well as the company's perspective as the recipient of the sponsorship application.
After the talk show, the event continued with rally games. Participants from all student organizations (ORMAWA) formed groups and collaborated to create a work program (Proker). Quite different from previous years, each group had a success indicator, namely a certain amount of money targeted by the SS event organizing committee. The groups took turns visiting four different company posts and trying to convince them to provide sponsorship in the form of money or goods. Interestingly, each post was handled by a talk show speaker, so participants could directly understand the sponsorship process through this sponsorship application simulation. At the end of the sponsorship application session, the speakers would evaluate the mistakes made by the sponsorship applicants.
Regarding what is expected after this Strategic Sponsorship is implemented, Andrew Alvaro Harun - the person in charge of the Strategic Sponsorship event, explained "All members of the Public Relations Division of Student Organizations at FEB are members of an External Association of ORMAWA FEB. Therefore, with the Strategic Sponsorship, it is hoped that SS will not only be a forum for all members of the Public Relations Division of ORMAWA FEB to improve their public speaking skills and sponsorship applications, but also to get to know each other, work together, and be in harmony in building the image of our proud faculty, namely the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga"- considering that the Public Relations Division (PR) is the front guard for bringing the name of the faculty to external parties.
