Model United Nations (MUN) 2020

FEB Competition Club – Model United Nations is one of the work programs of the Department of Science BEM FEB UNAIR 2020 which is in the form of training activities for selected delegates from the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga students to participate in the international Model United Nations conference. The delegates were trained for 4 months (February – June) by Demas Nauvarian (International Relations 2017) and Putu Shangrina Pramudia (International Relations 2017) to be ready to participate in a Model United Nations conference.

Model United Nations is a simulation of a United Nations (UN) session in which delegates represent a country within one of the UN Councils. Delegates will present arguments aligned with the policies and interests of their respective countries to find the best solution to a given topic that is acceptable to all countries. This activity is expected to develop the skills of students at the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga, such as diplomacy, leadership, public speaking, writing, analysis, and problem-solving.

On June 13, 2020, the FEB Competition Club – Model United Nations successfully sent 5 delegates to participate in the Singapore Model United Nations (SMUN). The delegation team consisted of Dhanendra Farazandy Budyanto (Islamic Economics 2019), Amara Salsabila (Management 2019), Putri Nabilah (Accounting 2019), Aniza Rania Devi (Accounting 2017), and Balqish Maryna Sari (Management 2017).

The delegates are expected to gain many benefits from the conference so they can apply it in their daily lives and also provide knowledge related to Model United Nations to FEB UNAIR students as a forum for student self-development.
