
Considering that the world will enter the Industrial Revolution 4.0 Era, with various aspects increasingly developing, starting from technology, politics, culture and so on, BEM FEB Unair wants to provide a forum for active FEB Unair students to be able to hone their critical thinking skills to face the progress of the era in the future.
The Economic English Club is a program designed to provide training to active FEB Unair students who are enthusiastic about participating in Model United Nations (MUN). The club provides self-training to students to hone their soft skills, particularly public speaking , and critical thinking skills in Model United Nations (MUN) design.
The activity was opened on March 15, 2019, where participants were given an overview of the technical aspects as part of the introduction to Model United Nations (MUN). After that, a simulation of MUN itself was carried out where participants participated in activities such as moderated caucus , unmoderated caucus , and presentation of conclusions.
The 2nd meeting on May 15, 2019, participants were provided with material regarding MUN 101 to learn more about the problems that exist in MUN, in addition, participants also carried out a simulation for MUN itself.
At the third and fourth meetings, held on May 23 and 30, 2019, participants conducted MUN simulations to prepare them for the actual Model United Nations (MUN). The topic of discussion was " Extremism in the Middle East ."
The series of events is expected to equip participants with knowledge about the technical aspects and workings of Model United Nations (MUN) and provide sufficient training to hone critical thinking and public speaking that can be used as provisions for participants to face a new and more advanced era in the future.
