Economic English Club

The Economic English Club is an event that serves as a development platform for those who want to hone their soft skills in public speaking in English. This activity is aimed at students who want to practice their English speaking skills so they can participate in debate competitions such as Model United Nations and English language debate competitions.

This activity took place in the even semester of the 2017/2018 academic year at the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga. Approximately 25 pre-selected participants attended.

The activity was opened on March 16, 2018, where participants were given the basics about Model United Nations (MUN) and after that, a simulation of MUN itself was carried out where participants took part in activities such as moderated caucus, unmoderated caucus, and delivery of conclusions.

In conjunction with the EEC, a TOEFL seminar will also be held on November 9 and 10, 2018, aimed at providing useful information for students from the Faculty of Economics and Business who wish to take the TOEFL, ELPT, or similar tests. The seminar will also be followed by an ELPT test conducted by the Universitas Airlangga Language Center as a form of collaboration.

This seminar is intended to assist students who have not yet met the TOEFL graduation standard and those who wish to improve their ELPT scores. It is hoped that this seminar will expedite the graduation process and help those still studying further develop.
