Disaster Response is a routine program organized by the Community Service Department of the Student Executive Board (BEM FEB UNAIR) to assist communities affected by disasters. This activity can take the form of fundraising to provide material assistance to those affected, or direct volunteering to assist those affected.
Disaster Response has conducted fundraising to help communities affected by the Lumajang Cold Lava Flood with a donation period of July 9, 2023 - July 16, 2023 in collaboration with IZI (Indonesian Zakat Initiative) with a total donation of IDR 766,600. This donation drive supports SDGs number 1, which aims to end poverty. In disaster situations, many people are economically affected, and the donations provided are expected to be able to help their basic needs, such as food, clean water, and temporary shelter. Furthermore, the donation drive also reflects the spirit of cooperation and concern closely related to SDGs number 17, namely "Partnership for the Goals." Pengmas BEM FEB Unair, with the support of donors, collaborates with various parties to provide assistance to communities affected by disasters. Thus, Disaster Response activities are not only acts of solidarity, but also concrete steps towards achieving various SDGs goals that aim to create a more just and sustainable world for all.
