On September 18-19, 2020, the Airlangga Creativepreneur Competition was held, a program of the Department of Creative Economy that focuses on entrepreneurship in the business sector. Students from various universities across Indonesia, including the University of Indonesia (UI), the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), and Gadjah Mada University (UGM), participated in the competition. The ACTION program is expected to provide a platform for developing Indonesian students' business skills, enabling them to produce creative and innovative products, and thus foster young Indonesian entrepreneurs.
The 2020 ACTION carried the theme “Challenges of sociopreneurs in facing the era of industry 4.0 for a developed Indonesia”. For the selection stage, participants submitted papers online first and were then selected into 15 teams. Qualified teams were notified via email and the official ACTION Instagram account feeds to attend the Technical Meeting on September 18, 2020. On September 19, 2020, each team presented their submitted papers to the judges. The entire 2020 ACTION series was conducted online via Zoom due to the pandemic conditions.
The event continued with a webinar hosted by Dewi Kumala Putri with Ms. Eva Bachtiar ST, Co-Founder and CEO of Garda Pangan as the speaker, and Laila Hidayat as the moderator. The material presented discussed the importance of processing food waste, which has been rampant in big cities like Surabaya and Malang. Then, at the end of the webinar, a question and answer session was held along with the announcement and awarding of the competition winners. In ACTION 2020, 1st place was won by the Inti Cahaya Agri Team from Universitas Airlangga , consisting of Andrew Alvaro Harun, Eva Cipta Laras Kasih, and Enina Patricia. Then, 2nd place was won by the KIM Team from the Bandung Institute of Technology, consisting of Zakiyah Artanti Ratnadewi, Muthia Rahmah Delfi, and Fadhilah Istiqomah. Meanwhile, 3rd place was won by the Berflower Team from Brawijaya University, consisting of Sekar Illiyyin, Annisa Jasmine Sjachputri, and Salma
Ramadhani.
With the holding of the ACTION 2020 activity, Nevinda Yogastyawan as the person in charge of the activity hopes that in the future ACTION can develop further and ACTION activity participants can realize their business ideas and gain new insights from this activity.
