The MSEI Research Series is an initiative of the Islamic Economics Masters Student Association, specifically the Scientific Division Universitas Airlangga . This activity aims to create a platform for Islamic economics students to become agents of significant change in disseminating Islamic economic knowledge and enriching academic discourse and global economic practices. This event consists of five meetings that have been designed in a curriculum tailored to the needs of students in compiling research. These meetings are held regularly and present competent speakers. In addition, the output of this activity is expected to produce scientific articles ready for publication.
This activity is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially point 4 which emphasizes the importance of quality education and point 8 which highlights decent work and inclusive economic growth. Point 4 of the SDGs emphasizes the importance of universal access to quality education that is equitable, including higher education, which is the foundation for the development of quality human resources and has the potential to advance society. Meanwhile, point 8 highlights the importance of decent work and inclusive economic growth to create opportunities for all people without exception. By disseminating useful knowledge, it is hoped that participants will be able to increase opportunities to optimize research and publication activities that support future academic and career development.
Thus, through this activity, students will play a role as agents of change promoting quality education and inclusive economic growth in accordance with the SDGs. Students will also contribute to the advancement of Islamic Economics by producing relevant and high-quality research and publications.
