The Sharia Finance Expo is an annual event held by UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA with many activities. Among them are a bazaar, children's competitions, and one of them is the national Islamic economics Olympiad for students at the university level. This Olympiad is participated by students from all over Indonesia and consists of three stages. The first stage is a written test, the second stage is a group discussion and the third stage is an essay presentation. This Olympiad aims to increase the knowledge of the rabbani generation related to the increasingly complex issues or problems of Islamic economics, so that in the future it is hoped that they can contribute to the development of Islamic economics. This year, SFE carries the theme " Optimizing the Role of Islamic Finance Towards Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ". SFE is organized by the HIMA Sharia Financial Management UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA Yogyakarta.

The initial selection of the Olympiad is essay submission, for the 10 best essay teams that have passed the submission stage can take part in the SFE semi-finals at UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA Yogyakarta on October 28-30, 2018.

The final agenda of the Islamic Economics Olympiad was a gala dinner held on October 30, 2018, which ended with the awarding of the winners. First place was won by UIN MAULANA MALIK IBRAHIM, second place was won by STEI TAZKIYA, and third place was won by UNIVERSITAS AIRLANGGA.
