2019 Ekis Workshop at Brawijaya University

Islamic Economics students from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) successfully qualified as finalists for the Call for Papers in the national-level competition, the 2019 Ekis Seminar at Brawijaya University. They are Fatoni Mahendra Kurniawan (2014), Annisa Rahma Febriyanti (2016), Shinta Sunja P (2017), Ibnu Jauzi (2017), and Herlin Rahmayanti (2017). The Islamic Economics delegation from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) sent at least two delegates to the 2019 Ekis Seminar.

The 2019 Ekis Workshop Competition took place at Brawijaya University from September 15-18, 2019. The 2019 Ekis Workshop Competition consisted of delegates from twelve renowned universities, namely Brawijaya University, Semarang State University, Universitas Airlangga, Darusalam Gontor University, Trunojoyo Madura University, Lampung University, University of Indonesia, and Gunadarma University.

Their scientific papers have a diverse range of topics. Fatoni Mahendra Kurniawan's team created Poinku.Id, an online platform based on an app and website that helps raise funds for the ZISWAF (Islamic Religious Affairs and Waqf). Ibnu Jauzi's team discussed Sharia tourism, combining it with Islamic tourism that utilizes Islamic boarding schools (pesantren).

We hope that our writing skills will enable us to propagate Islamic economics. Furthermore, we hope to actively participate in the development of Islamic economics in Indonesia.
