Thesis Fighter with CESGS 2025 is a regular event of the Accounting Student Association. This collaboration between the Accounting Student Association and CESGS is expected to improve the competency of participating students in completing their final projects. This will enable participants to more effectively achieve SDGs point 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
This event is in the form of a thesis and research training consisting of 4 meetings
consisting of:
- Starting Academic Research:
This meeting will discuss the initial stages of writing a thesis. Topics will include the academic research cycle, selecting a relevant research methodology, and the first steps in writing a thesis. This topic will help participants identify research ideas, research literature, literature reviews, hypotheses, and relevant methodologies in the accounting field. It will also develop students' critical thinking and encourage innovation. - Software Use in Research:
In the second session, participants will be introduced to various software programs that can assist their research. Later, they will learn more about SPSS, Mendeley, Zotero, and Grammarly, as well as data management using Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace. - Challenges in Writing a Thesis and How to Overcome Them
After focusing on research techniques, participants are introduced to the problems that arise in research. Issues discussed range from procrastination, difficulty finding references, research strategies, and even a review of technical issues that they believe may cause difficulties. Participants will also receive solutions and motivation to overcome these challenges. - Thesis Proposal Seminar Presentation Strategy
At the last meeting, the discussion focused more on the thesis proposal seminar. Starting from how to prepare materials, structure slides, how to be confident during presentations, and how to deal with unexpected questions that are even outside the discussion.
