“ACCOUNTING SOCIETY IN VERSALITY (ACTIVE) 2020”

The current global economic situation, including in Indonesia, is in a worrying phase. The global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has significantly impacted economic prospects and public economic activity. Several institutions have even predicted a global economic slowdown, such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which projects global economic growth of minus 3%.

The global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has created uncertainty that can significantly impact accountants' judgments when preparing financial statements. Accountants can help resolve accounting issues arising from economic challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

In response to this situation, the role of accounting is also needed to address existing economic challenges. Therefore, the Accounting Student Association of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Semarang State University, held an accounting competition called ACTIVE "Accounting Society in Versality" 2020, themed "Opportunity to Rise Up: The Challenges for Reviving Indonesia's Economy After the Covid-19 Pandemic." ACTIVE is expected to contribute to improving the competence of accounting resources in Indonesia.
