The Accounting Internal Competition (AIC) is an annual competition specifically for undergraduate Accounting students Universitas Airlangga , generating excitement and enthusiasm. The 2018 AIC was held on May 2 and 3, 2018, at the Soepoyo Hall, Faculty of Economics and Business, Airlangga University. Thirty-three teams participated in this year's AIC, each consisting of two students from the 2016 class and one student from the 2017 class.
The event began with participant registration and an opening ceremony at 8:00 a.m. The teams arrived eagerly, eager to compete. Then, around 9:00 a.m., when all participants had gathered, the general rules were read, and shortly thereafter, the preliminary rounds began. In these preliminary rounds, participants worked on 100 questions for two hours. From these preliminary rounds, the 10 teams with the highest scores advanced to the semifinals.
The semifinals were held on the same day at 2:00 PM. In this semifinal, participants had to pass through five stations: Master, Grand Master, Epic, Legend, and Mythic. These stations featured games such as Snakes and Ladders, Crossword Puzzles, table racing, and many other exciting games. The questions in these games were still related to accounting, but presented in a fun and engaging way. From the semifinals, five teams advanced to the final round.
The following day, May 3rd, the final round began at 9:00 AM in the Tirto Hall, FEB UNAIR. Assessment in this round was conducted quantitatively and qualitatively. For the quantitative assessment, the participants played the Choose Your Box game. The system involved participants taking questions from the box to work on and collecting as many points as possible. Next, a roleplay was conducted by the team entitled "The Existence of Accountants in the Industrial Revolution 4.0." Some teams played the roles of accounting students, accounting departments, KAP, the Ministry of Finance, and IAI. The roleplay in this round was very exciting and made the participants involved more sensitive in honing their thinking patterns.
At the end of the final round, three teams emerged victorious in AIC 2018. The first place winner was Vexana, the second was Odette, and the third was Alucard. Each team received a certificate and cash prizes of Rp 1,000,000, Rp 750,000, and Rp 500,000, respectively. Congratulations to the winning teams!
