Accessor Scientific Week

Quality education is the main pillar in sustainable development and has become a priority in national and global agendas, in line with the objectives of sustainable development goals (SDGs) number 4. Efforts to improve the quality of education are not only the responsibility of the government, but also involves various parties such as the private sector, educational institutions, and the wider community. This is important because the quality of education really determines the quality of human resources (HR), which ultimately contributes to inclusive and sustainable economic growth (SDGs 8). The 2023 Katadata data shows that only 10.15% of Indonesia's population has successfully completed education up to tertiary institutions, shows that there are still challenges in access and quality of education that has the potential to enlarge social inequality (SDGs 10). On the other hand, the low rate of higher education participation also hinders innovation and development of competitive human infrastructure in the modern industry (SDGs 9).
To answer these challenges, the role of agents of change like students is very important in encouraging positive changes in the education sector. Association of Sharia Economics Studies (ACESS), as a student organization at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga , shows a commitment in supporting the achievement of SDGs through various work programs that support quality education and competency development. Programs such as Pillars (Scientific Week Accessors) are strategic means to improve the intellectual quality and skills of members, as well as bridge relations between students across campus to enrich insight and reduce the gaps in knowledge between regions. Pillars specifically also contribute to the achievement of SDGs number 17 (partnership to achieve goals), through teamwork that trains participants to think critically, work together, and find solutions to the problems of Islamic economics collectively. Thus, this program is not only a forum for academic improvement, but also the driving force of innovation, collaboration, and reducing socio-economic inequality through education.
