"Work Program to Sharpen English Language Skills"
AED is a program run by the faculty-level student organization AcSES. It helps improve the English skills of FEB students who are members of AcSES. The 2018 AED mentors and instructors are AcSES students with excellent English skills, as well as Mei Indah Sari, an English literature alumna from the 2014 intake. Participation in this program is free.
AcSES English Day has been running since March 15, 2018, which began with a pretest. Then on April 27, 2018, AED discussed Part of Speech part 1. The next AED discussed the implementation of part of speech (Part of speech 2) which was held on May 4, 2018. Next, it was held on September 6, 2018, which was filled with the Listening section. The committee used two songs, English vocabulary followed by a speak up regarding the essence of the song they listened to. Then, it continued on October 18, 2018. This work program was carried out from 6:00 PM to 8:40 PM WIB. Finally, the posttest was held on November 1, 2018, in room 204.
The AcSES English Day is expected to equip AcSESors with the English language, especially those who wish to participate in competitions, conferences , and other activities for overseas travel. AcSESors can learn English from listening to word structure and grammar. One indicator of AED's success is an increase in their post-test scores and the confidence of each participant to speak English, even though they are still using a mix of English and Indonesian .
