Description of Internal Business and Paper Training (INTEREST) Activities

Internal Business and Paper Training (INTEREST) is one of the activities of the Science Department and Entrepreneurship Department's work program, which includes a series of seminars and workshops with the theme "Tangible Evidence of Writing Skill". This activity is aimed at improving the ability to write scientific papers and being able to channel active and innovative ideas and concepts. This activity was carried out on 21-22 March 2019 at the Fadjar Notonegoro Hall. An overview of these activities is as follows:

First day

Before the start of the activity, all committee members were asked to gather to conduct briefing . briefing activity was held at approximately 11.00 WIB in the front corridor of the Fadjar Hall.

The event begins with participant registration around 12.00-13.00 WIB. The entire committee prepared themselves according to their duties and participants started to arrive little by little. The attendance of participants on the first day was quite large, even exceeding the expected number because there were several participants who registered on the spot who also took part in this activity that day. After it was estimated that many participants had already entered the hall. The event began with the MC opening the event, namely Nuri and Kevin, by singing the song Indonesia Raya and the Airlangga Hymn. Then the event continued with remarks from KOC. The event was followed by remarks from KAHIMA Economic Development and a reading of a series of events by the MC.

At around 13.45 WIB the event continued with the delivery of material by Mr. Miguel as the speaker. He conveyed motivation to the audience who attended with enthusiasm. It could be seen from the enthusiasm of the participants who attended and listened carefully. For around 30 minutes he delivered his motivation and then continued with the next speaker, namely Mr. Angga Erlando. Mr. Angga's presence was actually a substitute for Mrs. Shochrul, who at that time was unable to attend due to illness. As the second speaker, Mr Angga also conveyed motivation and shared experiences which certainly inspired the participants. The motivation conveyed by Mr. Angga was certainly different from before. Each speaker provided inspirational motivation in their own way to convey enthusiasm to the participants present. After the motivational presentation ended, the next event was a talk show by Mr. Miguel and Mr. Angga.

The talk show that day showed the enthusiasm of the participants in participating in the event as evidenced by several participants asking questions to the speaker. In this session, it was intended that the participants who attended really listened to what the speaker said because the question and answer session was able to train students to explore their curiosity more deeply. The event didn't stop there, it continued with a talk show by Mr Wisudanto. The content of what was conveyed was the same, namely about sharing and motivation. Then, it was continued with a speaker from Universitas Airlangga , namely Mas Tegar. He also conveyed tips and sharing to the participants.

The event closed at around 16.10 WIB with the presentation of plaques by the event KOC to the speakers present. In conclusion, the first day was quite enjoyable because many participants attended and enthusiasm was visible during the question and answer session. After the event was over, the entire committee held an evaluation in the front corridor of the Fadjar Hall. The results of the evaluation were not that bad, because it was felt that all committee members had carried out their duties well.

The second day

Before starting activities on the second day, the entire committee was asked to gather for a briefing at around 07.30 WIB. The series of events on the second day was different from the first day. On the second day, the event started in the morning at 08.30-09.00 WIB for participant registration.

When participants arrive, the committee directs them to immediately enter the hall. However, the number of participants on the second day was not as many as on the first day. Only half of the registered participants were present in the Hall.

The event started at 09.00 WIB with the singing of Indonesia Raya and the Airlangga Hymn. Followed by a reading of a series of events by the MC. At around 09.15 WIB, the event continued with a workshop, namely the delivery of material on data processing by Mbak Eka Wahyuni. Mbak Eka is an assistant to one of the lecturers who teaches in Development Economics. With his expert knowledge in processing data, he provided very useful material to the participants and students who were present to learn together to process data. Then the event continued with a workshop by Mas Tegar who was tasked with providing material on writing papers.

For about an hour he gave tips on writing innovative papers. At 11.00 WIB all events ended temporarily because at that time it coincided with Friday prayers and continued at around 13.30 WIB. Towards the end of the event, there were two speakers who attended the second session that day, namely Ms. Irma from the Management major, class of 2017 and Mas Kathon, majoring in Management, class of 2016. They both delivered material regarding business plans. At 14.30 WIB it was followed by an explanation of the SOP from the guidance class curriculum by the event chairman, Abednego. At the end of the event it finished at around 15.00 WIB. The event closed with the presentation of plaques by KOC to the speakers.

After the event was over, all the committees gathered to conduct an evaluation on the second day and found several problems in that the number of participants who attended was quite small and many left the hall before the event was over. Apart from that, all the attendants carried out their duties during the event very well.
