Description of Internal Business and Paper Training Activities (INTEREST)
Internal Business and Paper Training (INTEREST) is one of the activities of the work program of the Department of Science and the Department of Entrepreneurship which includes a series of seminars and workshops with the theme "Tangible Evidence of Writing Skill". This activity is aimed at improving the ability to write scientific papers and be able to channel ideas and concepts actively and innovatively. This activity was held on March 21-22, 2019 in the Fadjar Notonegoro Hall. An overview of the activity is as follows:
- First day
Before the event began, all committee members were asked to gather for a briefing . The briefing took place at approximately 11:00 a.m. WIB in the corridor in front of Fadjar Hall.
The event began with participant registration around 12:00-1:00 PM WIB. All committee members prepared themselves according to their respective duties and participants gradually began to arrive. The attendance of participants on the first day was quite high, even exceeding the expected number because there were several participants who registered on the spot who also participated in this activity that day. After the estimated number of participants had arrived, they entered the hall. The event began with an opening by the MCs, Nuri and Kevin, singing the Indonesian national anthem and the Airlangga Hymn. Then the event continued with remarks from the KOC of the event, followed by remarks from the KAHIMA of Economic Development and a reading of a series of events by the MCs.
At around 1:45 PM WIB, the event continued with a presentation by Mr. Miguel as the speaker. He delivered motivation to the audience who attended enthusiastically. It was evident from the enthusiasm of the participants who listened attentively. For about 30 minutes, he delivered motivation, then continued by the next speaker, Mr. Angga Erlando. Mr. Angga's presence was actually a substitute for Mrs. Shochrul who was unable to attend due to illness. As the second speaker, Mr. Angga also delivered motivation and shared experiences that certainly inspired the participants. The motivation delivered by Mr. Angga was certainly different from the previous ones. Each speaker provided inspirational motivation in their own way to channel enthusiasm to the participants who attended. After the motivational delivery ended, the next event was a talk show by Mr. Miguel and Mr. Angga.
The talk show that day demonstrated the enthusiasm of the participants in participating in the event, as evidenced by several participants asking questions to the speaker. This session was intended to ensure that the attendees were truly listening to what the speaker was saying, as the Q&A session can train students to explore their curiosity deeper. The event did not stop there, as a talk show continued with Mr. Wisudanto. The content of the presentation was the same: sharing Universitas Airlangga spoke . He also shared tips and shared with the participants.
The event concluded at around 4:10 PM WIB with the presentation of plaques by the event's KOC to the speakers. Overall, the first day was quite enjoyable, with a large number of participants in attendance, and enthusiasm evident during the Q&A session. After the event, the entire committee held an evaluation in front of the Fadjar Hall corridor. The evaluation results were not particularly bad, as all committee members were deemed to have performed their duties well.
- The second day
Before the second day's activities began, all committee members were asked to gather for a briefing at approximately 7:30 a.m. WIB. The second day's schedule differed from the first. On the second day, registration began in the morning at 8:30 a.m.–9:00 a.m. WIB.
Upon arrival, the committee directed participants to immediately enter the hall. However, the number of participants on the second day was not as large as the first. Only half of the registered participants were present in the hall.
The event began at 9:00 a.m. WIB with the singing of Indonesia Raya and the Airlangga Hymn. This was followed by a reading of a series of events by the MC. Around 9:15 a.m. WIB, the event continued with a workshop, namely the delivery of material on data processing by Ms. Eka Wahyuni. Ms. Eka is an assistant to one of the lecturers who teaches in Development Economics. With her expert knowledge in data processing, she provided very useful material to the participants and committee who were present to learn together about data processing. Then the event continued with a workshop by Mas Tegar who was in charge of providing material on paper writing.
For about an hour, he delivered tips on writing innovative papers. At 11:00 a.m. WIB, the entire event was temporarily ended because it coincided with Friday prayers and continued at around 1:30 p.m. WIB. Towards the end of the event, there were two speakers present in the second session of the day, namely Ms. Irma from the Management department, class of 2017, and Mas Kathon, class of 2016, Management department. They both delivered material on business plans. At 2:30 p.m. WIB, it was continued with an explanation of the SOP from the guidance class curriculum by the event chairperson, Abednego. At the end of the event, it finished at around 3:00 p.m. WIB. The event closed with the presentation of plaques by the KOC to the speakers.
After the event concluded, the entire committee gathered to evaluate the second day and identified several challenges, including the relatively small number of participants and the large number of people leaving the hall before the event ended. Otherwise, the entire committee performed their duties admirably.
