This is a biennial national scientific writing competition at student level held by Islamic Economic Studies (KEI) Faculty of Economics and Business, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta. SETiA 8th carries the theme "The Potential of Sharia-Based Technopreneurship Facing the Industrial Revolution 4.0". This activity was held with the aim that students can improve their ability to respond to future challenges from their insight and knowledge regarding the issues raised. 8th SETiA competition series begins with abstract selection followed by full paper selection which ultimately calls for the top 15 finalists from all universities in Indonesia to present their work on 22 to 24 November 2018. The series of events are technical meetings, full paper presentations, national seminars, gala dinners and field trips.

On this occasion, Universitas Airlangga qualified to send the 3 best delegates. The three delegates included Ananda Olga Ulima, Fatoni Mahendra Kurniawan, Sandika Passadini, Abdul Ghofur, Galuh Widagdo, and Ibnu Jauzi. They departed to represent the Bachelor of Islamic Economics study program. The topics in their scientific papers are varied. The Ananda Olga Ulima team created an innovation, namely Halalkan.com, an online platform based on applications and websites that functions as a supplier of halal food and beverage needs that focuses on MSMEs and the community. The Sandika team discussed peer to peer sharia landing combined with waqf as a source of financing for borrowers. Meanwhile, the Galuh team discussed the procurement of Sharia Farmer Investment Institutions (LIPS). Barakallah and Alhamdulillah 2 UNAIR teams managed to win 2 championships at the 8th SETiA . The Ananda Olga Ulima team won 2nd place and the Sandika team won 3rd place.
