IC – CEPA
Chile is Indonesia's third-largest trading partner in South America after Brazil and Argentina (2018). December 14, 2017, marked a significant milestone in bilateral relations between Indonesia and Chile. The two countries signed a comprehensive economic partnership agreement known as the Indonesia-Chile Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IC-CEPA). The agreement was signed by the Indonesian Minister of Trade, Enggartiasto Lukita, and the Chilean Minister of Foreign Affairs, Heraldi Munoz Valenzuela.
The aim of the IC-CEPA is to encourage equitable economic growth and development, encourage cooperation in several potential fields between the two countries, stimulate Indonesian business actors to target non-traditional markets, and make Chile a hub for Indonesian export products in Latin America.
Indonesian products that receive a 0% tariff in the Chilean market include agricultural products, fisheries products, and manufactured goods. Meanwhile, Chilean products that receive a 0% tariff in the Indonesian market include agricultural and fisheries products, mining products, and industrial products. (ros)
