(FEB NEWS) "Regional MSME Development Workshop" for MSMEs with the material "Digital Strategy and Export Opportunities" by Untung Basuki - Head of East Java Customs I, moderator Dr.
Ika Yunia Fauzia, on Monday, June 26 2023 was successfully held by the Department of Sharia Economics FEB UNAIR in collaboration with IAEI (Association of Islamic Economic Experts), from the Fadjar Hall FEB UNAIR at 13.00-17.00 WIB. Fortunately, Basuki, in his material explained the challenges of MSMEs in times of uncertainty.
Some of them are difficulty moving up to class, minimal access to digitalization, difficulty penetrating the global market, not being productive or which means MSMEs are not yet involved in the production chain in the medium/basic business sector, and a lack of financial services to help business development. Therefore, collaboration is needed to empower and expand the local product market (MSMEs) through exports. The Export Clinic is a program that empowers Indonesian Attachés Abroad and Cooperation with Foreign Government Attachés in the Regions as a collaboration and orchestration of the Independent Program for MSME Development by BUMN and National Private Companies.
This program can help empower MSMEs to make exports easier. As in Export Clinic Orchestration, education will be provided regarding export customs procedures, literacy understanding of export-related rules and regulations, assistance as an effort to provide solutions to obstacles experienced, socialization of customs facilities and procedures, as well as coordination with Ministries/Institutions and regional agencies related. The result of this development program is that in 2022 as many as 12 MSMEs in the Regional Office of DJBC Jatim I will succeed in exporting independently with a total export value reaching IDR 12 billion. Apart from material about the empowerment program, the resource person also conveyed easy steps for exporting and the detailed provisions for Export Trafficking. The hope is that many MSMEs will develop with independent exports so that they can improve the Indonesian economy too, especially the East Java region. This workshop is related to and supports SDGs number 8, namely decent work and economic growth.
