(FEB NEWS) This certified internship was conducted by interns at PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) is one of the largest government-owned banks in Indonesia. BRI has been operating for 120 years and has excellent service and millions of customer transactions managed through service facilities spread widely throughout Indonesia. This certified internship aims to provide interns with a direct overview of the world of work and have the opportunity to implement the knowledge they have gained in lectures to be practiced visually during the internship process. During the internship, participants are expected to gain a lot of new knowledge that will be useful in facing the world of work.
Like Romano Krisna Nugraha - Accounting, and two other friends from FEB UNAIR (Elmo - Management and Firda Management) are interns placed at the BRI Kertajaya Branch Office located in Surabaya. The internship method is carried out offline or work from office. The internship at BRI Kertajaya Branch will be conducted from November 14, 2022, to January 31, 2023. Working hours are from 7:15 AM to 4:30 PM WIB. Cumulatively, the internship will take 9 hours and 15 minutes. The internship routine will be rolled out across all functional lines of BRI Kertajaya Branch, including:
1. Operational service sub-functions that include HR Logistics IT, customer service, tellers, funds & services, credit administration.
2. Retail marketing functions include Consumer RM and SME RM.
3. Micro business functions that include PAU.
In summary, what Romano Krisna did as an intern during the internship included:
• Working on payroll salary credit from customer companies.
• Directly offering Business Cards / Credit Cards that have an MOU and are in collaboration between BRI and INI (Indonesian Notary Association) which are free of annual fees every year.
• Studying Letters of Credit from an export import transaction.
• Prospecting customers by offering several stores or businesses to use (Electronic Data Capture) EDC from BRI.
• Knowing the theory of (Know Your Customer) KYC in conducting marketing prospects to turn customers into regular customers of BRI.
• Learning how to prospect customers with the canvassing method in offering QRIS barcode merchants to various customer criteria and supporting places.
• Create a report on the blocking letter of vehicle BPKB that will be used as collateral by customers to make collateral at BRI Kertajaya.
• Ensure that supply chain and consumer goods customers have received the loan offered by BRI.
• Complete the auction document requirements and the results of the checking that has been carried out on site by the National Land Agency and Notary.
• Input BRI Spot data on customer data who made collateral loans at BRI in that month and process it directly.
• Study cases that occur directly through customers at the frontliner customer service.

The internship experience at PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. Serang for more than three months has become a valuable life experience because during this internship, Romano, as an intern, was able to broaden his extraordinary insight that had never been learned in college. Romano and two other interns also received positive encouragement from the office environment, starting from mentors, bank employees, and operational assistant managers, so they were able to push themselves beyond their previous competency limits. Having the opportunity to network with all office employees was a very valuable benefit for the interns. The interns were very grateful to be guided by a mentor who was willing to share his knowledge freely, provide trust and encourage them to continue learning to expand their competencies.

In terms of insights, this internship provided participants with a wealth of new banking knowledge, including learning about banking business processes, strategies in the banking Relationship Marketing (RM) profession, introductions to banking products and services, and other learning experiences. Beyond these insights, the internship also provided participants with the opportunity to hone their soft skills, such as building effective communication and connections, addressing potential workplace challenges, developing mental preparedness for all situations and conditions, fostering strong teamwork, and developing a positive work ethic.
