UNAIR NEWS – Currently the industrial revolution 4.0 is the biggest challenge for universities in Indonesia. In order to strengthen networks in the world of business and the world of work, development, synergy and suitability of curricula for higher education are very necessary.

Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to discuss curriculum development based on industrial revolution 4.0 on Saturday (19/6/2021). To be precise, it was carried out in a hybrid via the Zoom and offline in the KRMT Fadjar Notonegoro hall. The theme of the Business World Industry Forum - World of Work and Curriculum Development Based on Industrial Revolution 4.0, Outcome Based Education (OBE) and Freedom to Learn - Independent Campus (MBKM) was promoted in this activity.

In his speech, the Dean of FEB Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, SE., M.Si., Ak. CMA., CA., said that there is a need for harmonization of educational curricula in higher education. Especially for economics and business faculties to suit the industrial revolution 4.0 and its relevance to the world of work.

"This FGD is aimed at answering how we align the educational curriculum in higher education," he said.

In order to align the industrial revolution 4.0 curriculum, students are expected to be able to take part in the eight programs promoted by the Merdeka Campus. One of them is an internship or certified work practice.

"The hope is that with the existence of this FDG and the stakeholders who attended this event, we will be able to provide opportunities such as internships or programs that have been promoted by the Merdeka Campus for FEB students themselves," he said.#

"Through the program by the independent campus, students are able to gain experience and at the same time increase their knowledge and skills ," he added.

In this way, the transformation of the world of education in this era through the development of information technology is able to lead students to become graduates who excel in the world of work. "Of course, in aligning the curriculum, FEB itself will immediately carry out a grand curriculum design that embraces skills in addition to providing knowledge itself," he said.
