Master of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) and Transparency International Indonesia (TII) held the Compliance and Integrity Leadership Program (CLEAR). The training program, which was held on May 3 2017 at the Borobudur Room, Garden Palace Hotel, Surabaya City, emphasized the important role of the private sector in efforts to eradicate corruption.
In his remarks, Dadang Trisasongko, as Secretary General of Transparency International Indonesia (TII) emphasized the importance of efforts to prevent corruption in the private sector. The role of the private sector in eradicating corruption is important so that the dose of corruption does not increase. If this dose is maintained, the phenomenon of state capture will occur, where the corrupt private sector dominates state policies.
In his speech, Wisnu Wibowo , as Head of the Master of Economics Study Program, Faculty of Economics, Universitas Airlangga emphasized the importance of anti-corruption to increase competitiveness and encourage quality economic growth, especially in the city of Surabaya. "Implementing Corruption-Free Business promises efficient business prospects that support quality and sustainable economic growth in the City of Surabaya"
"Companies that are run with anti-corruption principles are proven to survive in the global market." said Wahyudi M Tohar, Program Manager of the Economic Governance Department, Transparency International Indonesia.
A total of 22 participants attended this activity. Participants come from private employees, BUMN/BUMD/Village BUM, Academic Community (Lecturers, Academic Staff and Students), or employees of central/regional government agencies who have an interest in anti-corruption compliance issues.
The participants explored efforts that could be made by the participants' home institutions to design anti-corruption programs and realize business without corruption through increasing and effectiveness of Public Information Openness efforts; Complaint Handling Mechanism; Whistle Blowing System; Gratification Management; n National Organizer's Asset Report; and Joint Action Against Corruption.
