While taking the double degree , I chose the thesis topic with the theme "Internet of Things (IoT)" which aims to offer practical advice to a company on how to innovate and improve business operations or business models using IoT. I am interested in focusing on the application of digital twin technology in one of the companies in Indonesia, considering that there are still very few companies in Indonesia that have implemented this technology, even though there are many choices of Digital Twin providers available. Therefore, my thesis aims to provide insight into digital twin options (information regarding options, process implementation, benefits and challenges) to one of the manufacturing company divisions in Indonesia, namely the factory services division of PT. Pupuk Kaltim. So that later the company division can increase the effectiveness and efficiency of its manufacturing process.
Writing a thesis there takes 6 months or 3 quarters consisting of 3 stages of assessment, introduction, entire thesis, and trial. During this process, students receive guidance from 2 supervisors and 1 company coach. At that time I had the opportunity to take an online trial via zoom in student housing due to COVID-19. Head of the accounting study program, Mr. Iman Harymawan, Ph.D. as a representative from UNAIR, he was also present as an examiner. After the trial was over, I took the time to take selfies with Indonesian friends from other universities who had the same trial schedule that day.
After fulfilling all the required credits, I was inaugurated as an alumnus of SAXION University's International Finance and Accounting Program (IFAS-SDP) study program on July 15 2020. Graduation at that time was held offline on campus with a red-carpet concept (usually celebrated in a garden party at a restaurant) but still implementing health protocols. My parents could not be there to accompany me due to limitations during the pandemic, but I am grateful that I could still celebrate this happy moment with my fellow students from Indonesia.
Upon returning to study from the Netherlands, I plan to graduate at UNAIR in December 2020. At UNAIR itself I have completed the requirements to graduate as a student in the accounting study program, 144 credits including a thesis completed during the double degree program, with a GPA of 3.74 . I thank FEB Unair for providing opportunities, facilities and guidance to its students to take part in international programs, including this double degree program. (obm)
