Islamic Economics

The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Airlangga offers the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) in Islamic Economics. FEB Universitas Airlangga was founded officially in 1961 through the Minister of Higher Education and Science Decree No. 31/1961. Howver, its origin can be traced back to 1954. Considering its long history, the feb at Universitas Airlangga is, Therefor, One of the Oldest Faculty of Economics and Business in Indonesia. Moreover, as the assurance of its high quality, it has received National and International Recognition Through Several Accredits.

IUP in Islamic Economics Program is the pioneer of a bachelor 'degree in Islamic economics in Indonesia. The regular program was founded in 2007 and IUP was founded in 2019 as a response to the market demand for such a program. The Program Provides Students with the knowledge and skills need by Islamic Businesses and Industries and Academics. It will not only bring students to a new way of life but also encourage students and graduates to join in the efforts to accelerate the implementation of Islamic principles in the National Economy. The IUP in Islamic Economics is designed to produce graduates who can be a leader in Islamic business, finance, and social finance who has a deep and comprehensive understanding of the concept of Islamic economic and a strong analytical, innovative With all those qualities, it is expected graduates can empower Islamic economy in the family and society.

Objectives

The programmalm objectives and desired outcomes are:

  • To produce graduates who are professional, innovative, and high moral (al-Akhlaq al-Karimah) and a leader who has strong integrity and high quality in Islamic economy, business, and finance.
  • To Produce Graduates Who Can Analyse Islamic Economic Policies, Islamic Business, and Finance Integrally and Comprehension Driven by the results of data and information analysis to yield accountable decisions.
  • To Produce Graduates Who Can Manage Islamic Financial Institutions and Other Islamic Institutions According to Islamic Principles and Islamic Ethics.
  • To produce graduates who can study and analyse the implementation of Islamic economics in the Islamic economy, business, and finance in order to provide meaningful solutions and breaking-through ideas to society.
  • To Produce Graduates Who Have Independent Spirits and Entrepreneurship as well as social sensitivity and great care to society.

Academic Rules

Students in the IUP FEB UNAIR will study in an International Environment, with Internationally Standardized Facilities and Be Taugt by Intense International Experience. The International Experience of the Lecturers in IUP FEB Unair Manifests in Several Ways, such as Extensive International Collaboration, Graduating from Universities Abroad, OR Having International Recognition.

The IUP FEB UNAIR DETERMINES to Make Students in the IUP FEB UNAIR Program Get as much as Possible International Exposures. Besides the International Environment in the Program, Students are also required to take at least one of the following international exposures: a one-semester Exchange Program, a dual degree program, or an outbound abroad in one of the partners universities.
