
(Inspirational Story) Surabaya - Being a outstanding student and completing his studies within 3.5 years with the title of Cum Laude at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB Unair) is not easy. Widya Andika, graduate of the 2021 Accounting Study Program, proves that good perseverance and time management can bring her achievement.
This woman from Surabaya claimed to feel a mixture of feelings of happiness and sadness after officially holding a bachelor's degree.
"I am very happy to be able to graduate quickly and cum laude, but also sad because they can not feel learning and the atmosphere of the campus anymore," he said. However, Widya stressed the importance of continuing to learn, even though he was no longer in college.
FEB Airlangga University Achievement Students
During college, Widya was active in various academic and non -academic activities, such as organizations, competitions, to scholarship hunting. The key lies in the structured planning since the beginning of the lecture.
"Semester 1 focus on lecture adaptation, semester 2-3 began to join the campus organization, semester 4-5 active in international -based organizations, and semester 5 and above focus on participating in various competitions," he explained. Entering semester 6, Widya began to build experience in the professional world through the internship program ( internship ) as well as participating in the scholarship selection.
His hard work is sweet. He won two prestigious scholarships. First, a scholarship from Bank Indonesia through the GenBI (Indonesian New Generation) program in semester 4. Then in semester 6, he was re -elected as the recipient of the Early Recruitment Program from Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI), who not only provided financial support, but also the direct opportunity to become Management Trainee after graduating.
Widya shared tips to pass the prestigious scholarship selection.
"For the GenBI scholarship, make a strong motivation letter and complete the core requirements such as the TOEFL score above 450, a good GPA, as well as other documents needed. As for ERP scholarships from BNI, candidates for awardee need to broaden insight into banking, because there will be two large selection stages that include approximately six stages, namely scholarship selection and management trainee selection," he said.
Won 30 business plan competitions
One of Widya's biggest achievements was his success in winning more than 30 business plan during college. However, the journey to the achievement is not always smooth.
"At first I also did not win immediately. But after the evaluation many times, I finally found a turning point and began to participate in 3-5 competitions at once at one time. From there I began to get used to and found tricks to continue to win, even though I had to present alone," he recalled.
The most memorable experience for Widya was when participating in the Business Plan at Diponegoro University. The race hone the ability of public speaking and problem solving in dealing with various questions from the jury. Although not the main champion, he was successfully selected as the best speaker thanks to a stunning performance during the presentation.
"It was a very memorable experience because I learned to manage nervousness, build confidence, and hone the problem of problem solving in the midst of uncomfortable conditions," he added.
Message for students
Closing the story, Widya advised students not to hesitate to try various opportunities during college.
"Just try everything you can try. Focus on yourself, do not compare with the achievement of others, set the time well, and make a future plan. The important thing is, don't waste college time, because 3.5 years can determine who you are in the future," he concluded.
