Unair's MM Master's Program Wins the Best Study

SURABAYA, PETITION.CO – The Master of Management (MM) program at Airlangga University (Unair) Surabaya won a certificate of appreciation as 'Best Study Program 2'. This award is a sign of attention and appreciation for the performance that has been achieved so far.

The Head of the Master of Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Unair, Dr. Gancar Candra Premananto, SE, M.Si said that the award was directly given by the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor for study programs that had good performance and improved in order to synergize missions and work programs between all components within Unair.

“Grateful for God's blessing, for all the blessings for getting attention and appreciation for his performance and achievements so far. We also thank the leaders of faculties and universities," he said in Surabaya, Thursday (31/1/2019).

He explained that the MM Master's Degree Study Program was awarded the 'Best Study Program 2' for the S1, S2, SP3 and SP1 categories of Social Sciences. MM FEB Unair received an award as the 2st best study program for non-exact masters and doctoral degrees in Unair.

"So there are other awards for the exact S1 study program, the non-exact S1 study program and the exact exact master program. And S2 Management also received an award as the 1st best undergraduate study program,” said Gancar, who also doubles as a lecturer at FEB Unair.

The day before, MM FEB Unair had received an appreciation from the Faculty, namely an award as a study program with CSR Innovation. “MM has received national accreditation from BAN PT A since 2006 until now. MM FEB Unair was formed in 1991. So it has reached 28 years of age,” he added.

The award-winning criteria this time are 18 items. So the measurement is very rigid considering various aspects, including the national and international accreditations it has. “Alhamdulillah, MM FEB Unair has been internationally accredited from ABEST21 Japan. The international accreditation has been A for 3 periods," he said.

Still regarding the award, Gancar said that MM did many things, up to 18 indicator items were adequate, even considered the best. New things are also done in the learning process which is not only classical and discussion.

“There is also the use of marketing simulation software. Experiential based learning is also carried out in business ethics and CSR courses, by giving group CSR assignments to students," he explained.

Regarding the superior innovations/programs that have been implemented and which will be implemented in the future by the MM Masters Program related to domestic and foreign economic developments, Gancar explained, various innovations have been brought up by MM FEB Unair. Among other things, with the new curriculum that includes new things.

“In the future, with the work theme being 'More CSR, more global and more IT', the program direction in the future will also lead to that. Debriefing is not enough just to make lectures for students. But also an innovative and technology-based learning process," he said. (bm)
