(FEB NEWS) Surabaya, Monday, October 13, 2025 – Students of the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR) have once again achieved a proud achievement. Vriska Putri Peztaria, a Bachelor of Economics student from the class of 2023, won the title of Talented Ning 2025 in the 2025 Surabaya Cak & Ning Selection event.
This event was organized by the Surabaya City Department of Culture, Youth, Sports, and Tourism (Disbudporapar) in collaboration with the Surabaya Cak & Ning Association. Over 250 participants attended, and of those, 15 couples, or 30 individuals, were selected to join the Surabaya Cak & Ning Association.
The 2025 Surabaya Cak & Ning Selection will take place in a series of rigorous stages from September to the Grand Final on October 11, 2025, at the Surabaya Heroes Monument Stage. This historic stage will witness the culmination of the selection of Surabaya's tourism ambassadors, an event that seeks young people who are not only knowledgeable but also deeply committed to the City of Heroes.
This event provides a platform for Surabaya's young generation to hone their talents, creativity, intelligence, and public speaking skills . As Tourism and Culture Ambassadors, Cak and Ning were selected to be the official representatives of Surabaya City to promote tourism, culture, and the city's unique values at the national and international levels.
Carrying the theme "The Soul of Collaboration," this activity emphasized the importance of collaboration, mutual cooperation, and a spirit of mutual support. These values align with the unique character of Surabaya, where development and community benefits are more tangible when all elements of society come together.
After registration closed, participants underwent several preliminary selection stages. The first preliminary stage, held on September 19, 2025, successfully narrowed down the participants to 40 Cak and 40 Ning. The successful participants then proceeded to the semifinals at the end of September 2025, where 294 participants again underwent a rigorous selection process that tested various abilities, such as talent and public speaking skills .
After the semifinals, the top 15 Cak and 15 Ning were selected to advance to the next stage. They underwent a quarantine period, during which they were provided with various materials and insights into tourism ambassadors. During the quarantine period, the finalists received training from various expert speakers in their fields.
In the middle of the quarantine period, a talent show night was held, where Vriska displayed her singing skills which would determine her success in winning the title of Talented Ning 2025.
The highlight of the event took place at the Surabaya Heroes Monument on October 11, 2025, where the jury selected the winners for various categories, including Cak & Ning Surabaya 2025, Deputy I, II, III, as well as special categories such as Talented Cak & Ning, Friendship, and Favorite.
Prior to receiving this award, Vriska Putri Peztaria had been active in various student activities. She joined the FEB UNAIR Ambassadors Association in 2023 as a first-semester freshman, then became a staff member of the Arts and Sports Department of BEM FEB UNAIR in 2024, as well as the Chairperson of the 2024 FEB Ambassador Selection Committee. In 2025, she was appointed Head of the Research and Development Bureau of BEM FEB UNAIR.
Her participation in the 2025 Cak & Ning Surabaya Selection provided valuable personal development experience. Through this event, Vriska honed her communication skills, creativity, and self-confidence, as well as fostered her awareness of local culture. This activity served as a platform for developing students' character and soft skills , in line with the values of Excellence with Morality, which FEB UNAIR consistently upholds.
