(FEB NEWS) FEB UNAIR again contributed achievements at the opening of 2023. On Sunday, (22/01/2023) evening, the Grand Final of the National Alms Agency (BAZNAS) Ambassador for East Java Province was held at the Islamic Center Building in Surabaya. Siti Alfia Ayu Rohmayanti, who is currently registered as a student of the MSM Study Program FEB UNAIR (Class of 57), was selected as the Intelligence Ambassador for Baznas East Java.
On this occasion, the Head of Baznas RI, Colonel (Ret.) Nur Chamdani, Chairman of Baznas East Java Drs. KH. Roziqi, Deputy Head I Prof. Ali Maschan Moesha, Deputy Head II Drs. KH. Ahsanul Haq, Deputy Head III Dr. KH. Muhammad Zakki and Deputy Head IV Dr. KH. Husnul Khuluq along with all staff of Baznas East Java were present. Also present were the Deputy Governor of East Java Emil Elistianto Dardak and his wife, Head of the East Java Communication and Information Service Hudiyono and invited guest participants.
Alfia is one of 30 participants who qualified for the Grand Final round from a total of 148 participants who then participated in a series of quarantine at the Berkizaar Hotel Surabaya. From Alfia's account, during the quarantine she received a lot of knowledge about the science of Zakat, Infaq, and Sodaqoh (ZIS) which is driven by several Zakat Amil Institutions (LAZ) such as the Muhammadiyah Zakat, Infaq, and Alms Institution (LAZISMU) and the Nahdlatul Ulama Zakat, Infaq, and Alms Institution (LAZISNU). Furthermore, the role of academics is also very important in encouraging this development so that during the quarantine there were additional materials and campus visits at Universitas Airlangga specifically at the Faculty of Economics and Business.
The East Java Baznas Ambassador was held with the hope of being a form of collaboration between Baznas East Java and young people who are able to become inspirations and drivers of zakat promotion, as it is known that the potential for zakat in East Java in 2022 is estimated to reach IDR 487 billion and will continue to grow in 2023.
After the election of the East Java Baznas Ambassador, of course, a youth association will be formed with educational and promotional programs regarding ZIS in the form of more creative and innovative promotional innovations according to the current digitalization era.
So that the existence of the East Java Baznas Ambassador and its various programs can be part of strengthening economic empowerment in East Java through Baznas East Java.
