(FEB NEWS) Universitas Airlangga consisting of Fauzan Ghaly Mulyanto (Development Economics), I Kadek Yudy Prasetia (Accounting), and Vania Eka Rachmadani (Accounting) named the Amerta Venture group, succeeded in achieving the National Best III ranking in the Investment Research Sector in the National Student Competition in Business, Management, and Finance (KBMK) which was held on June 24-29, 2024 at Multimedia Nusantara University, Tangerang, Banten.
The team, guided by Angga Erlando S. E, M.Ec.Dev., succeeded in winning the national best award III after going through three quite tough rounds starting from the preliminary round, the semifinal round, and the final round. In the preliminary round, the Amerta Venture team Universitas Airlangga (Unair) conducted an analysis of SIDOMUNCUL shares which are quite familiar among the public with their tolak angin product. After being selected as the top 10 best and advancing to the semifinal round, the Amerta Venture Unair team got a new case, namely the analysis of the PHAPROS company which is a subsidiary of Kimia Farma whose name is quite unfamiliar with its products which are quite common to hear, one of which is antimo.
The Amerta Venture Unair team was required to present their analysis of the decision within 15 minutes in front of the judges. Then, after being declared to have passed to the final stage, the Amerta Venture Unair team immediately received a new case to analyze and prepare a presentation file related to a new issuer, namely HANSOH PHARMA, a pharmaceutical company from Hong Kong. This new final stage case was released on the same day after the announcement of the final participants at 8:00 PM with a submission deadline the following day at 6:00 AM. The struggle and never-give-up spirit led the Amerta Venture Unair team to successfully complete the analysis for 10 hours non-stop and make a 10-minute presentation in front of the judges and were able to defend their arguments within 15 minutes regarding the analysis that had been carried out.
The National Student Competition in Business, Management, and Finance (KBMK) is a prestigious annual event in the fields of business, management, and finance organized by the Indonesian National Achievement Center and the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Research, and Technology. This year's KBMK carries the theme Exploring Responsible Production and Consumption Opportunities and the Implementation of a Circular Economy in the Era of Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0 to Accelerate Inclusive and Sustainable National Economic Transformation within the Framework of the Field of Business, Management, and Finance. KBMK itself has five competition branches, one of which is the investment research branch. This branch is the one that the Amerta Venture Unair Team is focused on, considering their background coming from the Capital Market Study Group (KSPM) FEB Universitas Airlangga which focuses on discussing the world of capital markets. Amerta Venture Unair successfully completed all stages of the competition and advanced to the final stage.
As the Amerta Venture Unair team, they worked well together and maximized their capabilities. When the winners were announced, they secured the National Third Place Award in Investment Research after competing against over 100 other teams. This victory opens new hope, especially for the regeneration of Universitas Airlangga research and investment sector in the future.
Furthermore, considering that this is Universitas Airlangga first time reaching the finals in the Investment Research category, it is hoped that it will inspire and motivate them to dominate the KBMK competition in the future. As a new player, this achievement will be evaluated, and next year, Universitas Airlangga is ready to compete again with the goal of winning even more championships.
