(FEB NEWS) On Thursday, September 6, 2023, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga successfully held a Workshop, Towards the Eradication of Extreme Poverty 2024, as a continuation of the Academic Forum event, Towards the Eradication of Extreme Poverty 2024.
It was opened by Gigih Prihantono, SE, MSE. – Lecturer of the Department of Economics, FEB UNAIR, and acted as speakers: 1. Andie Megantara, Ph.D. – Secretary of the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia; 2. Mr. Elan Satriawan – Head of Policy Group TNP2K; 3. Kukuh Tri Sandi, S.Pi., MT., M.Sc. – Head of Government & Human Development Division, Bappeda East Java.
The workshop was attended by: lecturers from FEB UNAIR and also from other faculties such as the Faculty of Languages (FIB) UNAIR, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UNAIR, and also students.
Several important points that we agreed to get follow-up are:
1. The importance of involving scientific experts who care about the Elimination of Extreme Poverty (PKE).
2. Strengthening collaboration between the central and regional governments in building scientific discourse and discussions related to PKE.
3. Holding in-depth scientific briefings and discussions on PKE policies that are still sensitive.
4. The government needs evidence as a basis for policy making, which is provided by TNP2K.
5. Policy options are decided by the policy team after stocktaking and further studies.
6. Collaboration with various parties, including international ones, to overcome poverty.
7. Encouragement for academics to conduct publications/research regularly.
8. Data access through TNP2K at a rate of 0 for collaborative research purposes.
