(FEB NEWS) On Friday, December 15, 2023, the Development Economics Study Program held a Workshop on Developing Research-Based Internship Programs with Thesis Conversion. This event was held in the Tirtodiningrat Hall, 2nd Floor, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR).
The event was attended by various parties with expertise and experience in research, economic development, and innovation. Six prominent speakers participated in the workshop, including:
– President Director of PT REDI – Erlyn Yuly Astuti
– Secretary of the SMERU Research Institute – Heni Kurniasih
– Co-Founder of PT Kedata Indonesia Digital – Anggoro
– Head of the Center for Behavioral and Circular Economic Research, BRIN – Umi Karomah
– Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) of East Java Province – Ferdy Sukmadianto
– Director of PT. Cemerlang Statistika Indonesia (StatsMe) – Lussi Agustin, S.Stat, M.KP
This activity aims to provide participants with insight and guidance on developing research-based internship programs with a focus on thesis conversion. The workshop is expected to provide a deeper understanding of the importance of integrating research and innovation into internship programs, enabling students to apply the theoretical knowledge gained during their studies to practical industrial contexts.
The event was attended by several participants, including lecturers and development economics students interested in developing a research-based internship program. All of the material presented by the speakers received positive feedback from participants, who expressed satisfaction and new knowledge gained from the workshop.

This activity has a positive impact on efforts to achieve several SDG targets.
