The National Sharia Economic Competition (NSEC) is an annual event held by KSEI FRESH UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta. NSEC is a national-level competition related to Islamic economics for all students in Indonesia. NSEC consists of three categories: Islamic Economic Olympiad, Essay Competition, and Poster Competition. NSEC participants come from various universities, including Padjajaran University, Brawijaya University, Raden Intan State Islamic University of Lampung, and others. This year's NSEC carries the theme "The Role of Rabbani Economists in Realizing Inclusive Digitalization of the Sharia Economy."
NSEC is implemented in several stages. The preliminary stage is conducted online through Zoom Meeting and Quizizz with individual assignments. The semifinal stage is conducted online through Zoom Meeting with a Quiz Scheme. The final stage is conducted offline at the UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta campus on September 26-27, 2023, with case studies.
The students who participated in the competition were from the Scientia Team consisting of: Diaz Tulus Anandri (042111433099), Mutiara Rahma Cahyani Warli (144221104), and Desiyanti Sagita Rachmahdewi (144221181). This team passed the preliminary stage, semifinals, to the final. Although initially using personal funds, but it did not dampen the fighting spirit of this team.
This activity certainly also supports Universitas Airlangga and the Airlangga Knights in promoting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Among the 17 existing SDGs, this activity plays a role in the following SDGs: SDGs 4 – Quality Education, SDGs 5 – Gender Equality, and SDGs 17 – Partnerships to Achieve Goals. SDGs 4 – Quality Education is implemented because in this activity synergizes in working and exchanging ideas for the advancement of Islamic economics. SDG 5 – Gender Equality is applied because this activity also involves gender differences and there is no discrimination whatsoever; everyone is equal and supports each other. SDG 17 – Partnerships to Achieve the Goals is included in this activity because cooperation between parties is needed for this activity to run and produce a positive impact for Indonesia and the world.
