(FEB NEWS) The Financial Services Authority (OJK) was present at Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) to share knowledge on sustainable finance, as an effort to support economic growth that will have a positive impact in the future.
Tuesday, March 15, 2022, from the Fadjar Notonegoro Hall, 2nd Floor of the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR), “The Role of Risk Management to Encourage Sustainable Financial Acceleration”, as the theme, was discussed in a public lecture, which is a collaboration between FEB UNAIR and the Financial Services Authority OJK Institute, presenting Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak. – Rector Universitas Airlangga, to provide an Introduction to the Public Lecture and presenting 2 (two) speakers: 1.) Prof. Wimboh Santoso, SE., MSc., Ph.D. – Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners; 2.) Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia., SE., MSi., Ak., CMA., CA. – Dean of FEB UNAIR, and guided by Moderator Dr. Gancar Candra Premananto – Head of the Management Department of FEB UNAIR.
The event, which was held in a hybrid manner, was attended by the Vice Deans of FEB UNAIR, FEB UNAIR Management, Lecturers, Professors, Practitioners, Bankers, Undergraduate, Masters and Doctoral Program Students both from UNAIR and students from outside UNAIR (Institute of Technology Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta (UMS), Hayam Wuruk University (UHW) Perbanas, UPN Veteran East Java, STIE Al-Ishlah Cirebon).
In addition to the Public Lecture, the event also saw the signing of a Cooperation Agreement between FEB UNAIR and the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Institute, regarding the Independent Campus Learning Internship Program at the Financial Services Authority, which was signed by: Dr. Agus Sugiarto, SH, MBA – Head of the OJK Institute Department and Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia SE., MSi., Ak., CMA., CA. and witnessed directly by: Prof. Wimboh Santoso, SE., MSc., Ph.D. and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak.

In his introduction, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak. said that one of the goals of education at Universitas Airlangga is to increase relevance for its graduates. UNAIR hopes that none of its graduates will be irrelevant to the world they will face in the future. In accordance with the theme taken in the guest lecture, which is related to the acceleration of sustainable finance, according to Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak., "the theme of sustainability is currently a major global issue. As in the UN we recognize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)", which is a global action plan agreed upon by world leaders, including Indonesia, to end poverty, reduce inequality and protect the environment, which is expected to be achieved by 2030.
Regarding sustainability, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak. stated that "UNAIR also has what we know as Smart University, which includes a program called "Sustainable Education for All", as part of a strategic theme in the field of education.".
“UNAIR is determined to continuously improve the scientific relevance of its graduates, and therefore good relations, good partnerships and good collaborations between academics and the world of practitioners (related to economics, such as OJK, BI, and industry) are highly expected,” continued Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak., at the end of the introductory guest lecture that afternoon.
Prof. Wimboh Santoso, SE., MSc., Ph.D. also stated, during his guest lecture, that the OJK is ready to support/collaborate with UNAIR, especially FEB UNAIR, to establish broader cooperation, which can start from study programs, which are related to Sustainable Finance, and the basis can be on OJK publications related to Sustainable Finance.
Like a response from a good friend, Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia., SE., MSi., Ak., CMA., CA., delivered her response to the challenge from Prof. Wimboh Santoso, SE., MSc., Ph.D., regarding the response or response from FEB UNAIR, that FEB UNAIR has responded to the need for technical competencies as desired by the International Education Standard (IES) 2021, through a redesign of its curriculum. where the Accounting Professional Education Program has included the content of Governance, Risk Management and Internal Control courses, also no less important, regarding the content of Information and communication technologies courses, in its lectures.
Moreover, Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia., SE., MSi., Ak., CMA., CA, also explained the strategic plans of FEB UNAIR, to open a new study program, namely the Risk Management Masters Program, at the beginning of the 2022 semester. FEB UNAIR will collaborate even closer with the OJK both in the development of its Human Resources, as well as in its certification.
