OBE-BASED CURRICULUM INTEGRATION AND ITS IMPLEMENTATION EVALUATION WAS THE FOCUS OF THE SECOND DAY OF THE WORKSHOP AT FEB UNAIR

Surabaya, Tuesday, July 29, 2025 – The Indonesian Institute of Accountants, Accounting Education Compartment (IAI KAPd) in collaboration with the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR) held the second day of the Accounting Study Program Curriculum Workshop: Integration in Outcome-Based Education (OBE) & LAMEMBA Excellent Accreditation Instrument, on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. Held at the Fadjar Notonegoro Hall, 2nd Floor of FEB UNAIR, this activity was attended by more than 141 participants from various Accounting Study Programs throughout Indonesia, and presented Prof. Dr. BM Purwanto, MBA., Ph.D. – Professor of FEB Gadjah Mada University – as the main speaker. On the second day, the workshop raised two strategic topics: “OBE-Based Curriculum Integration and Evaluation of Its Implementation” and “Rubric, Measurement, Evaluation, and Intervention”. In this session, Prof. Purwanto comprehensively discussed the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) approach to curriculum design, which emphasizes learning outcomes and graduate competencies. He emphasized that the challenge of today's curriculum is not simply how to develop teaching materials, but how to ensure graduates truly possess measurable and relevant competencies.

Furthermore, Prof. Purwanto explained that rubrics and measurement instruments are important components in the learning quality assurance system. He likened the rubric to a “recipe” that details the standards for learning success, so that the evaluation process can be carried out objectively and systematically. Evaluation and intervention are also part of a continuous cycle in ensuring that weaknesses in the learning process can be corrected as early as possible. The event closed with the reading of the Decree on the Learning Achievements of Graduates of the Bachelor of Accounting and Bachelor of Applied Accounting Study Programs delivered directly by Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, SE., M.Si., Ak., CMA., CA., as Chair of IAI KAPd and Dean of FEB UNAIR, together with Reskino, Ph.D., Ak., CA., CMA., as Secretary of IAI KAPd. The decree is a concrete step in adjusting the learning outcomes of graduates to national standards and superior accreditation instruments from LAMEMBA.

Through this workshop, IAI KAPd and FEB UNAIR are strengthening synergy in developing the quality of higher accounting education in Indonesia. With a focus on achieving tangible graduate competencies and responsive learning to the needs of the professional world, this activity is part of a continuous effort to build an accounting education system that is adaptive, measurable, and has a strategic impact on the future of the profession.
