(FEB NEWS) The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR) successfully held the 2024 IDSC National Seminar with the theme “Youth Driving Creative Economy & Collaborating in Education for a Sustainable Future” on Saturday, November 9, 2024. This seminar, which took place in the Ternate Hall, Aseec Tower, became a valuable platform for students to explore the role of youth in driving the creative economy and the importance of collaboration in education towards a sustainable future.
This seminar featured inspirational speakers such as Jerhemy Owen, who explored how the creative economy can grow through innovation led by the younger generation. Jerhemy Owen explained the great potential of locally based creative economies, such as tourist villages, which can be developed through the participation of youth and local communities. By utilizing unique cultures and digital technology, the younger generation can elevate regional potential to a wider market, creating a sustainable economic impact for the surrounding environment.
As an industry representative, Kahf from Paragon shared the company's perspective on supporting a sustainable creative economy. Kahf explained how Paragon has collaborated with local communities to produce innovative products that combine Indonesian cultural values with contemporary trends.
As the closing speaker, Fathia Fairuza presented her ideas on the importance of cross-sector collaboration in education to support a sustainable future. Fathia emphasized the importance of synergy between educational institutions, the government, and the private sector to create educational programs that equip the younger generation with relevant skills to face future challenges.
This seminar not only focuses on increasing the capacity and professionalism of participants, but also contributes to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through strategic and collaborative partnerships.
