UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) continues to make achievements. This time, the Moscow International University Ranking agency "The Three University Missions" (MOSIUR) released information that UNAIR succeeded in occupying the 1301-1400 position as the best campus in the world or the fourth best in Indonesia.
According to Dian Ekowati, Ph.D., Head of the UNAIR Planning and Development Agency (BPP), MOSIUR is a ranking agency that independently screens and qualifies universities worldwide. This screening is conducted objectively based on university performance in the IREG Inventory of National Rankings , publications, and several other program-related criteria.
"This is the second time UNAIR has been listed on the MOSIUR rankings. Previously, in 2020, UNAIR was ranked fifth in Indonesia," he told UNAIR NEWS on September 11.
3 Assessment Criteria
In conducting the rankings, MOSIUR assesses the quality of higher education institutions based on three traditional university missions: education, research, and community service. Regarding these three aspects, Dian—as she is known—stated that UNAIR is quite comprehensive in the field of education. This is because UNAIR offers a variety of disciplines to improve the quality of education, totaling no fewer than 174 study programs. Most of the study programs offered, Dian continued, have been accredited with an A grade.
Furthermore, Dian explained that based on other rankings, such as the QS World University Rankings (WUR), UNAIR's lecturer-to-student ratio is at a good 8.96. This indicates that one lecturer is responsible for the education and teaching of nine students, thus ensuring a high level of knowledge.
"Furthermore, excellence in education also supports UNAIR in the quality of two other aspects, namely research and community service," he added.
In the future, Dian said that efforts to improve the University's performance will always be carried out continuously in various aspects and ensure that as an educational institution, UNAIR can have a good impact locally, nationally and globally.
