SURABAYA, PETISI.CO – The Master of Management (MM) program Universitas Airlangga (Unair) Surabaya has received an award as the "Best Study Program 1." This award recognizes and acknowledges its achievements.
Head of the Master of Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Unair, Dr. Gancar Candra Premananto, SE, M.Si said that the award was directly given by the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor to study programs that have good and improving performance in order to synergize the missions and work programs between all components within Unair.
"We express our gratitude for God's blessings and for all His blessings, including receiving attention and appreciation for our performance and achievements. We also express our gratitude to the leadership of the Faculty and the University," he said in Surabaya on Thursday (January 31, 2019).
It was explained that the Master of Management (MM) study program received the award for 'Best Study Program 1' in the Master of Science, Doctoral Program, SP1 Program, and SP2 Program in Social Sciences. MM FEB Unair received the award for Best Study Program 1 for Master of Science and Doctoral Program in non-exact sciences within Unair.
"Therefore, there are other awards for study programs in the exact sciences, non-exact sciences, and exact sciences. The Management study program also received an award for the best undergraduate study program," said Gancar, who also serves as a lecturer at Airlangga University's Faculty of Economics and Business.
The day before, MM FEB Unair received recognition from the Faculty, namely an award for a study program with CSR Innovation. "MM has received national accreditation from BAN PT A since 2006 until now. MM FEB Unair was established in 1991, making it 28 years old," he added.
The criteria for this award winner comprises 18 items. Therefore, the assessment is very rigorous, considering various aspects, including national and international accreditation. "Thank God, MM FEB Unair has received international accreditation from ABEST21 Japan. The international accreditation has been A for three periods," he said.
Regarding the award, Gancar stated that MM has implemented numerous initiatives, including achieving adequate and even excellent performance on 18 indicators. New initiatives have also been implemented in the learning process, extending beyond classroom learning and discussions.
"There's also the use of marketing simulation software. Experiential-based learning is also implemented in business ethics and CSR courses, by giving students group CSR assignments," he explained.
Regarding the innovations/leading programs that have been implemented and will be implemented in the future by the Master of Management (MM) program related to domestic and international economic development, Gancar explained that MM FEB Unair has introduced various innovations. This includes the new curriculum that incorporates new elements.
"Going forward, with the work theme of 'More CSR, more global, and more IT,' the program's future direction will also be geared toward that direction. Providing students with the necessary training isn't just about providing lectures; it also involves innovative, technology-based learning," he said. ( bm )
