On Saturday, May 5, 2018, UKMF AcSES FEB UNAIR implemented one of its work programs, a Sharia Business Study. The Business Seminar, themed " Let's be Sparkling Moslempreneurs for a Better Indonesian Economy ," aimed to provide knowledge on how to implement business practices in accordance with Islamic law. This Business Seminar was held as a means of enhancing applicable Islamic Business education.
This year's AcSES business seminar featured three speakers: Irsyad Ali Muhammad (Owner of Lazy Farm), Yudha Setiawan (Owner of Laziza), and Dr. Imron Mawardi (Lecturer at UNAIR's Faculty of Economics and Business). Approximately 180 participants, including students from UNAIR and other universities, attended the event.
Taking place at the Soepoyo Hall of UNAIR, the event began at 8:00 a.m. WIB. The event opened with the singing of Indonesia Raya, the Airlangga Hymn, and Mars Fossei by all participants. There was also a recitation of the holy Quran. It was followed by remarks from Mr. Mubin as a representative of the FEB Deanery, remarks from the Director of UKF AcSES, Moh. Sigit Awaluddin, and Fellingga Johar as the Chair of the 2018 AcSES business seminar committee.
The first speaker from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Airlangga University was Mr. Imron Mawardi. He began the seminar by introducing the concept of business within Sharia law. He provided examples of everyday life practices that are not in accordance with Sharia law but have become commonplace.
The second speaker was Mr. Yudha Setiawan, the owner of a fast-food restaurant called Laziza. Here, Mr. Yudha shared his halal restaurant concept with the audience. He prioritizes providing timely prayer times for his employees. Muslim women are required to wear the hijab. And in accordance with the halal concept, Mr. Yudha also prioritizes the health and quality of his food products. Another important aspect is charity. Mr. Yudha regularly invites orphans as a form of charity.
The third speaker was Ijad Farm's owner, Mas Irsyad Ali Muhammad. He is a UNAIR alumnus who has successfully developed his business. Mas Irsyad shared his livestock business concept, which utilizes digital and sharia principles. Ijad Farm is a livestock business that leverages today's advanced technology and the sharia-compliant concept of mudharabah investment.
After all the speakers had finished their presentations, a question-and-answer session ensued. Then, there was a symbolic presentation of souvenirs to the speakers and moderator. There was also a group photo session and a closing prayer.
