Business education should be geared towards practitioners/professionals, and the teaching and learning process should be different from that of fresh graduates. The term "student-centered learning" can even be adapted to "participant-centered learning." This is at least what Dr. Syed Aun Raza Rizvi from Lahore University of Management Science (LUMS) conveyed. He presented the message to dozens of lecturers from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Unair, including those from the Department of Economics, Accounting, and Sharia Economics. Even Kamadjaja Logistics from Corporate University were enthusiastic about attending.
Dr. Aun delivered this during the "Teaching Methods for Professional Students" workshop on May 13, 2019, at Tirtodiningrat Hall. A lively discussion ensued, with many questions and statements from the participants. The essence of the entire material was to remind practitioners that different teaching and learning methods are needed to further explore their experiences, accumulating and connecting them with business management knowledge.
