Departing to South Korea for a fairly large event, The 83rd Tourism Science Society of Korea (TOSOK) was a valuable experience for Nisrinah Arofahtus S (a 2014 Islamic Economics undergraduate student). The three of them, along with 2 juniors who have different concentrations of majors, did not make them waver in presenting their ideas about Trowulan, this was also motivated by the fact that Nisrinah is a native of Mojokerto who wants to introduce to the world that Indonesia (especially Trowulan) has enormous potential to be developed. The conference started on Monday, February 12, 2018. And they rented a hostel in the Seoul area (because the price was much cheaper), while the conference event was in the Songdo-Incheon area.
Their group presented in 3rd place, with a presentation time of about 15 minutes, and thank God they did well and received quite loud applause (because all those present were Masters, Doctors, professors, and researchers), but they appreciated the ideas of the three Unair students and their courage. After the event, they exchanged business cards and chatted about the presentations. One of the event organizers recognized the three of them very well because he was the only Muslim attending the event, the only Indonesian. So wherever they walked, curious eyes were always looking at them. But they felt grateful, because they were highly respected and their needs were facilitated (except for the prayer place, they had to find a quiet place to pray). In the evening, they were invited to go on a city tour of the Incheon area, which also introduced Incheon's new branding as the "Future of Korea."
The second day, was the opening ceremony and the announcement of the best paper. During the agenda, once again they felt very cared for because their food had to be vegetarian, one of the organizers even stood beside their table and ordered the waiters to specialize in them, because they were Muslim. Although in the end they were not able to become a selected paper, this trip from Korea gave them a lot of space to gain knowledge, God willing, it will be a blessing. Because, in addition to receiving input on ideas and meeting great people, they also realize that receiving the blessings of Islam and being a Muslim is something to be grateful for, every day, every moment. Despite their differences, a sense of tolerance and appreciation remains, without having to shake their faith and Islam.
