Through this MOU, the two research centers will collaborate in implementing research initiatives aimed at measuring and improving the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance of leading companies in Singapore and Indonesia. The research findings are expected to provide concrete recommendations and solutions to address sustainability challenges in the region.

In addition to focusing on research, this collaboration will also involve knowledge exchange between the two institutions. NUS Business School will gain access to CESGS's extensive data repository, strengthening its research capacity. By establishing an efficient channel for the exchange of reports and research findings, it is expected that this collaboration will make a significant contribution to supporting sustainable development.

In the education sector, this partnership will create a platform for workshops, research seminars, and capacity-building programs. Joint executive education programs on sustainability, such as sustainable finance and ESG regulations, will be one of the flagship initiatives of this collaboration. NUS Business School will also actively participate in revitalizing the Accounting study program at the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga by designing a comprehensive sustainability module.

Professor Lawrence Loh, Director of the Centre for Governance and Sustainability at NUS Business School, stated, “This partnership not only creates opportunities to address sustainability challenges in the region, but also to build human resource capacity that can play a role in achieving climate goals and shaping a sustainable future. We are honored to be able to contribute positively to the change towards a better world through concrete steps taken together with Universitas Airlangga.”
