
(FEB NEWS) Thursday, July 8, 2025 — In an effort to strengthen digital communication management within the university environment, the Center for Public Communication and Information (PKIP) Universitas Airlangga held a Cyber Security and Social Media Branding Guidelines Workshop on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 in the ASEEC Tower Meeting Room, Campus B, Universitas Airlangga .
The event was officially opened by Dr. Martha Kusumawardhani, Sp.KFR., as the Head of the Center for Public Communication and Information (PKIP) Universitas Airlangga. In her remarks, Dr. Martha conveyed the importance of this activity as a forum to strengthen practical understanding of cybersecurity while simultaneously aligning visual communication guidelines across the institution's social media channels. She emphasized that uniformity of digital identity and careful management of digital assets are the main keys to maintaining UNAIR's reputation as a World Class University.
The workshop then continued with the first presentation by Tri Febrianto, CEI, CEH, CHFI, EHE, as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of JagaMaya, who is known as a cybersecurity expert in the education sector. In his session, Tri explained various cyber threats that often target university social media accounts, such as phishing, session hijacking, and account impersonation. He also presented real-life case studies and provided prevention strategies that can be implemented by public relations teams and social media administrators in each work unit.
The second material was delivered by Gesang Manggala Nugraha Putra, SS, SA, M.Hum. (Unair PKIP Media Branding Coordinator). Gesang thoroughly reviewed Universitas AirlanggaSocial Media Branding Guidelines, including the implementation of UNAIR's visual identity, logo usage standards, typography, communication tone, and the technical aspects of producing visual and video content. He emphasized that visual and narrative consistency are essential for building an institution's professional image in the digital space.
The workshop was attended by faculty and work unit public relations coordinators, educational staff, and social media administrators from various departments Universitas Airlangga, including the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB UNAIR). Participants enthusiastically participated in the material and actively participated in the discussion, particularly addressing challenges and sharing experiences related to managing their respective social media accounts.
The event closed with a group photo session as a form of documentation and symbol of collaboration between institutions in strengthening digital security and institutional branding Universitas Airlangga.
