BLOCKCHAIN-BASED CARBON MARKETPLACE IDEA FEB UNAIR MANAGEMENT STUDENTS WINS 1ST PLACE IN BUSINESS CASE AT ITB

feb unair 1st place

feb unair 1st place(Feb News) 3 FEB UNAIR MANAGEMENT students, namely Tegar Bayu Laksmana, Brian Errando Limanjaya, and Michelle Sebastiani Chang, successfully won 1st place in the Business Case Competition held by the Faculty of Earth Science and Technology, Bandung Institute of Technology. The event raised the theme "Geohazard & Sustainability". The Business Case Competition race was attended by top universities in Indonesia, such as UI, ITB, UGM, and Telkom University. However, this did not make the three close friends afraid.

In the event, Tegar and his colleague raised the issue of energy transition acceleration through carbon trading. They said that Indonesia has extraordinary renewable energy potential. However, unfortunately access to capital to develop renewable energy is still very small. Therefore, they initiated ideas in the form of carbon marketplace based on blockchain technology to increase capital inclusiveness.
To the Feb News team, Tegar also added that through this marketplace the companies do not need to fear the duplication of carbon certificates because the mechanism has been solved through the adoption of NFT (Non-Fungible Token) technology. Through this technology, each certificate has a unique identity so it cannot be claimed by other companies.

"Our team tried to explore the benefits of blockchain technology to be used as an innovation recommendation for carbon trading problems in Indonesia. And, finally we managed to find carbon certification innovation through NFT technology adoption that guarantees having security value".
After going through the proposal assessment round, the team that named him wismilak advanced to the final round. In this last round, they must present the recommendations of their ideas in front of two judges namely, Prof. Dr. Aswan, ST, MT (Professor in Paleontology and Quarter Geology) and Clint Gunawijaya (ITB Business & Management School Graduates Entrepreneur).

Announcement of champions was made that same day. At the time of the announcement, Tegar and the team won 1st place defeated ITB participants in 2nd place and UGM champion 3. "We hope that this achievement can lead us to make achievements in other prestigious events and keep us humble to continue to learn" said Tegar at the end of the interview with the Feb News team.
