(FEB NEWS) Students from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR), have once again achieved a proud achievement. The Cornerstones team, consisting of three Accounting students from the class of 2023, won the "Most Sustainable Green Logistic Solution" award in the Business Case Competition Innovation Challenge of Excellence (ICON) 3.0 on Thursday, September 18, 2025.
The competition, held by ICON 3.0, was sponsored by PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), PT Integrasi Logistik Cipta Solusi (ILCS), and in collaboration with Oracle Indonesia and Makaravox UI. Hundreds of students from various universities throughout Indonesia participated, with the majority of participants majoring in engineering and computer science. The jury consisted of the Board of Directors of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), HR representatives of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), representatives of PT ILCS, and the University of Indonesia Alumni Association (ILUNI UI).

The Cornerstones FEB UNAIR team consists of Farah Kamilia Izzati (team leader), Esther Gracella Simatupang, and Nuzuliasyah Alia Putri Edis. Despite coming from accounting backgrounds, they managed to compete closely with the other finalists, who were predominantly engineering students. This success demonstrates that economic perspectives, sustainability, and business strategy play a crucial role in supporting Indonesia's logistics transformation towards an efficient and sustainable system.
The team's journey began in early August 2025, when they developed a proposal through in-depth research into the dynamics of Indonesia's logistics and port sector. Out of 85 applicants and 61 proposals, The Cornerstones' project successfully passed the initial selection process and became one of 10 national finalists. On September 15, 2025, they presented their pitch deck online, emphasizing funding and sustainability aspects, with a realistic financial analysis and reference to best practices in Scandinavian countries and Singapore.
The competition culminated on September 18, 2025, at the Auditorium of the University of Indonesia's Vocational Education Program. The Cornerstones presented a prototype solution based on green bonds as an innovative funding scheme to the board of directors, company representatives, and the President Commissioner of PT ILCS. This unique approach set them apart from other finalists, who tended to emphasize technical aspects. Their analytical research support, clear business strategy, and focus on green logistics concepts were among the added values appreciated by the panel of judges.
Their hard work finally paid off with the award for "The Most Sustainable Green Logistic Solution." This achievement not only makes the team proud but also emphasizes the contribution of FEB UNAIR students in addressing the challenges of digital logistics transformation in Indonesia. This achievement aligns with Universitas Airlangga vision to produce superior, adaptive, and globally competitive graduates.
