FEB UNAIR students won second place and gold medal at The 3rd International Youth Summit 2025 in Malaysia

(Feb News) Value, Malaysia Universitas Airlangga Student Team again made the nation proud on the international arena. In the 3rd International Youth Summit which was held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Malaysia Islamic Science University, Value, Malaysia, the Team of UNAIR students successfully won second place and Gold Medal for the competition sub -theme.

This prestigious competition was organized by the Sentosa Foundation, Malaysian Islamic University University, Ways, with the aim of capturing innovative ideas from the ASEAN young generation. Although intended for participants throughout ASEAN, the majority of participants came from Indonesia and Malaysia. The assessment process was carried out by professors from Malaysian Islamic Science University.

The Airlangga Team that succeeded in carving these achievements consisted of five students cross -disciplinary, namely:

  • Azzela Neirine Maharani - Accounting 2024 (Team Leader)
  • Fandy Ahmad Firmansyah Anwar - Accounting 2023
  • Safrina Putri Indira - Management 2023
  • Zhafa Putra Syah - Communication Sciences 2023
  • Rafi Aqillah Afif - English Literature 2023

They raised the work titled Farmforward: Empowering Communities Through a Social Enterprise Consultant to Achieve Sustainable Economic Goals , a social entrepreneur -based idea that focuses on empowering farmers and reducing food loss . In this initiative, agricultural products that were originally wasted were developed into added value products by farmers' wives, supported by the Farmforward that provides sustainable consultation and mentoring.

"This competition is a golden opportunity for us to prove that Indonesian students, especially from Universitas Airlangga, are able to compete globally by presenting real solutions to social and economic problems," Safrina Putri Indira said when interviewed.

Participant selection starts from online paper delivery. After going through the initial curation stage, the elected finalists were invited to Malaysia to present their work through the poster expo . Of all the participants, only seven best teams are entitled to advance to the final round, including the Airlangga Team which was later named the second place.

The International Youth Summit is not only a place for competition, but also an international forum that encourages students to think critically, collaboratively cross -cultural, and convey solutive ideas for various global issues. Involvement in this forum is in line with the vision of Universitas Airlangga in producing graduates who are global and contributed to sustainable development.

This proud achievement is a clear proof that the spirit of collaboration, innovation, and partisanship of social issues can be a student forces to shine on the world stage.
