In the competition organized by Bank Indonesia East Java, the UNAIR student team won 1st Place (Gold Winner) with their business innovation of titanium-based prayer beads bracelets with flowers immortalized in resin.
The competition will be held offline on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at the Al Akbar National Mosque in Surabaya during the awarding session. The 2025 Fesyar Business Plan Syariah Competition will feature 10 teams from various universities across Indonesia, with a panel of judges consisting of three Islamic Economics lecturers with expertise in entrepreneurship.
The UNAIR student team that successfully brought honor to the university consists of Mu'allim Syifa' Al Qulubi, Ayasha Dheiba Mas'udi, and Sabina Amelia Maulidia. Through their innovation, the UNAIR team offers a creative and innovative sharia-based business idea, while also supporting the development of the halal industry in Indonesia.
The competition process was quite rigorous and encompassed several stages, from the preparation of the Business Model Canvas (BMC) and the creation of the business proposal, presentation, and in-depth clarification sessions. The innovation presented by the UNAIR team was deemed not only unique but also had the potential to be implemented as a sustainable business model.
For the student team, the experience of participating in Fesyar 2025 was a valuable opportunity to integrate knowledge of business and Islamic economics with real-life innovation practices. They also experienced the challenging atmosphere of a national competition while providing important lessons on how an idea must be technically and economically justified and in accordance with Islamic principles.
Furthermore, this innovative work supports the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) points 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) and 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production). It is hoped that this innovation can continue to be developed and contribute to strengthening the halal industry ecosystem in Indonesia.
