(FEB UNAIR) Surabaya, Tuesday, October 28, 2025 — Another proud achievement was achieved by a student of the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR). Muhammad Izar Alfatih Rizqy, a student of the Accounting Study Program, FEB UNAIR, won 1st place nationally in the “Techpreneur 2025” Business Plan competition held by the Faculty of Computer Science (FIKOM) Universitas Brawijaya, East Java, on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
In this prestigious competition, Izar collaborated with two interdisciplinary colleagues: Alvyan Ananta Asis (Electrical Engineering, 2024) and Haranufa Andrea Gloris S (Industrial Engineering, 2024). The three formed the "Indonesia Emas" team and successfully defeated more than 20 participating teams from various universities across Indonesia, ultimately advancing to the final round, which featured the seven best national teams.
This competition promotes the spirit of technology-based innovation in designing business models that positively impact the development of the creative economy in Indonesia. During the selection process, participants underwent three rigorous stages: a business model canvas, a business proposal, and a final presentation to a panel of judges. The panel consisted of academics from Brawijaya University, technology practitioners, and professional businesspeople.
Izar explained that their business idea stemmed from real-life problems faced by farmers in Indonesia. Through a technological approach, the Indonesia Emas team offers solutions that are expected to help improve the productivity and efficiency of the agricultural sector. "We innovate to address the challenges faced by farmers in Indonesia. From the business model canvas to the proposal, we structure all aspects to deliver a tangible impact," Izar said.
Izar further explained that the journey to victory was not easy. They learned a lot from their unsuccessful previous competition experiences, ultimately allowing them to evaluate and develop a more robust business plan. "During the presentation stage, we presented ideas ranging from technology and business systems to financial planning. There were many challenging questions from the judges, but we tried our best to answer them," he added.
This victory is the result of hard work and solid cross-disciplinary collaboration. "Thank God, the Indonesia Emas team has won first place. This is a great source of pride because our hard work and long process have finally paid off," said Izar gratefully.
For Izar, the "Techpreneur" event is not only a competition but also a learning platform for contributing to the nation. "The goal of this event is to provide an opportunity for young people, especially students, to design businesses that have a positive impact on the development of innovation in Indonesia. I believe the younger generation has a crucial role to play in bringing about positive change, empowering the local creative economy, and elevating regional culture through their work and innovation," he said.
This achievement also demonstrates the quality of academic guidance and support provided by the supervising lecturers at FEB UNAIR, who continue to encourage students to actively compete, innovate, and apply their knowledge in the real world. The Indonesia Emas team's victory is clear evidence that cross-disciplinary collaboration can create creative solutions relevant to community needs and sustainable development in Indonesia.
