(FEB NEWS) Surabaya, Tuesday, September 16, 2025 – A team of students from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR) has once again achieved a proud achievement. In the 2025 Qris Exploration of Indonesian Culture (QJBI) event organized by the East Java Regional Representative Office of Bank Indonesia (KPwBI), the team named “Scan Squad” won 3rd place, which was announced via social media on September 16 via the Bank Indonesia East Java Instagram account. This competition carries the theme “Explore Indonesian Culture, More Practical Using QRIS” with the aim of inviting the people of East Java to become agents of QRIS socialization and digital payment systems.
The "Scan Squad" team consists of Antonio Billydharma Pangestu (Bachelor of Accounting, 2023), Fandy Ahmad Firmansyah Anwar (Bachelor of Accounting, 2023), and Alif Wildan Arazzak (Bachelor of Accounting, 2023). They competed alongside 150 registered teams, initially screened through social media, and were eventually selected to 30 for presentations on the Rupiah and QRIS. From this selection, only 10 teams advanced to the final round, with judges from Bank Indonesia and content creators.
The competition will take place on August 17–28, 2025, in three locations, namely Surabaya (Surabaya Zoo, Bungkul Park, Old Town, De Javasche Bank, Kalimas, and Tunjungan), Mojokerto (Majapahit Bejijong Village, Brahu Temple), and Sumenep (Sumenep Palace and Sumenep Square).
During the competition, the Scan Squad team completed four main missions, including field missions and social media missions. During the field missions, they directly educated the public on various Bank Indonesia programs, including BI-FAST and proxy addresses, consumer protection through the PeKA (Care, Recognize, Report) concept, electronic banking, QRIS Tap NFC, QRIS MPM Dynamic & Static, and the Love, Pride, and Understand Rupiah concept, which is linked to local cultural elements. The results of their field experiences were then packaged into social media content to expand the reach of education.
For the team, QJBI was a unique and valuable experience, providing a platform for creative, interactive, and applicable education for the community. The event also served as a crucial platform to support Bank Indonesia's innovation and breakthrough programs to realize an inclusive digital payment system.
