(FEB NEWS) Surabaya, Monday, October 13, 2025 – Students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR) have once again achieved a proud achievement. Eka Faramitha, a Bachelor of Economics student at FEB UNAIR, won the 2025 Favorite Ning title in the 2025 Surabaya Cak & Ning Selection event.
This event was organized by the Surabaya Department of Culture, Youth, Sports, and Tourism (Disbudporapar) in collaboration with the Surabaya Cak & Ning Association. Over 250 participants participated and 30 finalists were selected. The jury consisted of Cak Surabaya, Raka Jawa Timur, the Director of KLIK FM Radio Announcer, members of the Surabaya Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD), a psychologist, and a history lecturer.
The Grand Final of the 2025 Surabaya Cak & Ning Election will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the Surabaya Heroes Monument.
Faramitha explained that the event was significant and a valuable experience for her. "The Cak and Ning Surabaya event is more than just a tourism ambassador selection event. Through this activity, young people in Surabaya are given a space to learn more about their city's culture and learn how to introduce it to the wider community.
"Cak and Ning isn't just about appearance, but also about character, personality, and good communication skills. So, you could say, Cak and Ning isn't a competition, but rather a platform for developing Surabaya's young generation, ready to lead their city toward greater progress and character," he said.
Faramitha also explained that the event was quite lengthy and rigorous, starting with the first elimination round, second elimination round, third elimination round, semifinals, quarantine, and the Grand Final. Through the lengthy process, which took place from September 19 to October 11, Eka successfully secured the title of Ning Favorite 2025.
Participating in this event has had a significant positive impact on student self-development, particularly in honing public communication skills, strengthening self-confidence, and fostering a sense of community and cultural preservation. Through this experience, Faramitha has had the opportunity to hone soft skills highly relevant to the professional world and leadership, in line with the values consistently fostered within FEB UNAIR.
